About the Artist
Sandra Hildreth creates en plein air paintings inspired by the Adirondacks, where she has spent much of her adult life. Immersing herself directly in the landscape, she captures shifting light, atmosphere, and a strong sense of place. Her work reflects both beauty and history, honoring the resilience of wild spaces shaped by the region’s “forever wild” legacy. A former art educator, she taught for nearly three decades at Madrid-Waddington Central School and later served as an adjunct professor at St. Lawrence University. Her work is represented by regional galleries including Downtown Artist Cellar, Corscaden Gallery, Tupper Arts, and the Adirondack Artists’ Guild. Sandra is the founder and longtime coordinator of the Adirondack Plein Air Festival and has held leadership roles with Saranac Lake ArtWorks and BluSeed Studios.
